Open Data Day refers to the day where citizens gather in cities around the world to celebrate, show support for, and encourage the adoption of open data policies. Everyone who come to enjoy the day will not only have the opportunity to watch Hackathon, Mapathon, Wikithon and Localization Sprint but also be able to learn more about Open Data projects in Nepal.

The hackers are formed into groups who follow a set of rules and eventually create their materials using the data which are in csv, json or xml format. There will be a panel of jury to judge hackathon. And based on the results provided by the juries, the winners in 1st position will grab a prize amount of 10k and 2 runners up will earn 5ks each along with a certificate.
